Collection: Cartier for Men
Cartier, a name synonymous with luxury and elegance, was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. Known as the "king of jewelers" by England's Edward VII, the company remained under family control until 1964. Louis-François was succeeded by his son Alfred in 1874, and later, his grandson Pierre, who played a pivotal role in the brand's global expansion, opening the iconic New York store in 1909. In 1904, a conversation with Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont inspired Louis to create the first modern wristwatch, the Santos, designed for ease of use during flight. This innovation was followed by other iconic designs, such as the 1917 Tank watch. The brand's evolution saw the consolidation of its global branches under Cartier Monde in 1979, with ownership eventually transitioning to the Rupert family in South Africa and Pierre's granddaughter by 2012. Today, Cartier's vast product range includes exquisite watches, fine leather goods, and fragrances, with notable scents like Santos de Cartier launched in 1981 and La Panthère introduced in 2014, reflecting the brand's timeless appeal and dedication to craftsmanship.
